Ethics And Policies
The International Journal of Information Technology and Computer Engineering (IJITCE) is committed to maintaining high standards of publication ethics and academic integrity. The journal follows recognized ethical publishing practices to support the credibility, transparency, and quality of scholarly publishing.
IJITCE expects all authors, reviewers, editors, and publishers involved in the publication process to adhere to ethical standards and avoid academic misconduct, including plagiarism, duplicate submission, data fabrication, falsification, and unethical research practices.
Manuscripts containing plagiarized or improperly copied material will not be considered for publication. If plagiarism or other ethical concerns are identified during peer review or after publication, the journal may reject, correct, or retract the manuscript, depending on the nature and severity of the issue. Authors must not submit the same manuscript to multiple journals simultaneously.
Ethical Guidelines for Authors
Originality and Plagiarism
Authors must ensure that their submitted manuscripts are original works. Any content, ideas, or words taken from other publications must be properly cited and referenced. Plagiarism in any form, including copying text, paraphrasing without citation, or presenting others’ research as one’s own, is considered unethical publishing behavior and is strictly prohibited.
Multiple or Concurrent Submissions
Authors must not submit the same manuscript to more than one journal simultaneously. Submitting a manuscript to another journal while it is under review with IJITCE is considered unethical and unacceptable.
Reporting Standards
Authors should provide an accurate and objective description of the research performed, along with a clear discussion of its significance. Manuscripts should include sufficient methodological details and references to enable other researchers to understand, assess, and, where applicable, replicate the study.
Authorship Criteria
Authorship should be limited to individuals who have made significant contributions to the research, including:
- Conceptualization and study design
- Data collection and analysis
- Interpretation of results
- Drafting or critically revising the manuscript
All authors must approve the final version of the manuscript before submission. Contributors who do not meet the authorship criteria should be acknowledged appropriately.
Acknowledgment of Sources
Authors must properly acknowledge the work of others. All influential publications, references, datasets, tools, and other sources used in the research must be clearly cited, as applicable.
Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest
Authors must disclose any financial or non-financial conflicts of interest that may influence the results or interpretation of their research. Sources of funding, grants, or sponsorships must also be clearly stated.
Data Access and Retention
Authors may be requested to provide the data supporting their research findings for editorial assessment or verification. Data should be retained for a reasonable period after publication, subject to applicable laws, institutional requirements, and privacy or confidentiality obligations.
Hazards and Human or Animal Subjects
If research involves hazardous materials, equipment, or procedures, authors must clearly identify relevant risks and safety measures in the manuscript. Research involving human participants or animals must comply with applicable institutional and legal ethical requirements and include statements regarding approval from the relevant ethics committee, where required.
Fundamental Errors in Published Works
If authors discover significant errors or inaccuracies in their published work, they must promptly inform the journal editors and cooperate in issuing a correction or retracting the article, if necessary.
Ethical Guidelines for Reviewers
Reviewers play an important role in maintaining the quality and integrity of the IJITCE peer-review process.
Confidentiality
Reviewers must treat all manuscripts as confidential documents and must not disclose manuscript information to anyone without permission from the journal.
Objectivity
Reviews should be conducted objectively and constructively, providing clear, relevant, and well-supported feedback to help authors improve their manuscripts.
Conflict of Interest
Reviewers should decline to review manuscripts where they have personal, professional, or financial conflicts of interest that could affect their impartiality.
Timeliness
Reviewers should complete their reviews within the agreed time frame. If additional time is required, the editorial office must be notified promptly.
Ethical Concerns
If reviewers suspect plagiarism, duplicate publication, data manipulation, or other unethical research practices, they should inform the editorial office promptly and provide relevant supporting information.
Duties of Editors
Fair Play and Editorial Independence
Editors evaluate submitted manuscripts based on academic merit, originality, clarity, methodological quality, and relevance to the journal’s scope. Editorial decisions must be made fairly and without discrimination based on race, gender, nationality, religion, or institutional affiliation.
Confidentiality
Editors and editorial staff must maintain the confidentiality of submitted manuscripts and must not disclose information to unauthorized individuals.
Conflict of Interest
Editors must not use unpublished information from submitted manuscripts for personal research or advantage. They must recuse themselves from handling manuscripts where conflicts of interest exist.

Handling Ethical Concerns

Depending on the findings, the journal may issue corrections, expressions of concern, or retractions.
Duties of the Publisher
Handling Unethical Publishing Behavior
In cases of suspected scientific misconduct, plagiarism, or fraudulent publication, the publisher will work with the editorial board to assess the concerns and take appropriate action, which may include correction or retraction of the article.
